Heating Degree Days

Hello,
what's the easiest way to get the Heating Degree Days, relative to a 17° base temperature., as Thermos requests it?

If i understand it correctly, eurostat uses 18°C as base temperature.
And at the great tool of the german IWU you can only select 15,12 or 10°C.

Maybe you can provide a hint?
(And put this hint also directly in the user-interface where you have to enter it...)

We've been using degreedays.net for this. If you have some historical weather data you can calculate it as sumif(temp < 17, days * (17 - temp)).

You may want to look at RETScreen, it allows you to download the weather from the NASA database, then select your temperature and group by year. Part of the key steps are demonstrated in this video: https://youtu.be/Ur1KUjUODVc?t=797 In my case I ran for the past few years, to get a feel for the variability, and then selected a reasonable value.
